Abstract

Background & aims: Spatial hearing has an important role in speech perception and it is prerequisites for hearing function in complex auditory situations, the present study has been paid to build Persian version of Dynamic spatial quick speech in noise with respect to all possible factors affecting the test, to determine the validity of test and to run this for normal hearing subjects.

Methods: To build five new Persian lists with respect to the original Q-SIN test patterns, high frequency words, familiar and difficult in terms of cognitive were used to construct sentences that are unpredictable. Examination of predictability value of sentences carries out at two level: software and expert judgment. Then, the Dynamic Spatial Quick speech in noise software was developed by using the MATLAB and each of the 5 lists was conducted by that software in 35 individuals (18 females and 17 males) with Normal hearings.

Results: The cohort size is calculated for two- syllabic words, has a range of zero to 87, respectively. With this change, according to experts, content validity and formal statement were entitled. After running 5 list the average SNR loss of 5 list, equivalent to-5/2 dB. The effect of gender in the tests results revealed that there is no significant difference between men and women (p>0.05). The results indicate no difference in the average signal noise ratio loss between 5 lists. Intra-Class Coefficient (ICC=0.73) for lists was statically significant(p<0.001).

Conclusion: the developed lists of DS-QSIN are valid and in good equivalency .
