[English]

Background and Aim: Balance in in individuals with intellectual disability is very important due to weakness in the balance of implementing tasks. The present study aimed at evaluating the effects of 8 weeks of rope‐jump on static and dynamic balance in male students with intellectual disability.
Materials and Methods: In the present applied and quasi experimental study, the sample consisted of 20 male students, aged between 11-17, with intellectual disability randomly divided in to two groups. Prior to and after rope‐jump training, static and dynamic balance values were measured using stork and modified star tests (Y). The experimental group did rope‐jump training for eight weeks, three sessions per week, each session lasting for 45 minutes, while the control group did not do the trainings. Data was analyzed using independent and paired t-test. Statistical significance was set at p≤0.05.
Results: According to the results, significant differences were observed in the Balance (p= 0/019) and dynamic anterior surface (p= 0/03), posterior-interior (p=0/008), and posterior-external (p=0/017) in the experimental group compared to those in the control group.
Conclusion: Rope‐jump training used in the present study improved the static and dynamic balance in male students with intellectual disability.
