Background and Aims: Having psychological disorders such as autism spectrum cause the decrease in awareness and performance in different areas in children with this disorder. Therefore, the present study was to investigate the training efficacy according to sensory integration on the sensory state of the children with high-performance autism spectrum.
Material and Methods: It was a quasi-experimental with pretest, posttest and control group design. The statistical population of this study included all the children with high-performance autism spectrum who referred to Kahrizak rehabilitation center in Mohammad Shahr, Karaj in 2019-20 from whom 30 children were selected through purposive sampling method as the sample size and they were equally divided into experimental and control groups. Twelve ninety-minute sessions of training program were administered on the experimental group; however, the control group didn’t receive any training. Autism rating scale and Short form of sensory profile (Dunn , 1999) have been applied in order to collect the study data. The research data were analyzed via ANCOVA method. Data analysis was performed using SPSS software version 23.
Results: The findings showed that the training according to sensory integration has significant effect on the improvement of Sensory state of the children with high-spectrum autism spectrum.
Conclusion: According to the findings of the present study it can be said that training according to sensory integration is an effective approach in the improvement of the Sensory state of the children with high-performance autism spectrum disorder and it can be applied.
